Privacy Policy
DayHop ("we", "us") is a day-planning service built in the Greater Toronto Area. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the product needs to work, and we don't sell your personal information.
What we collect
- Account information. If you sign in (with email or Google), we store your email address so your shortlist and saved plans sync across devices. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
- Your prompts and plans. The day descriptions you type are sent to our AI provider (xAI's Grok API) to generate your plan. Plans you choose to save are stored with your account.
- Location. Only if you share it. Precise location is rounded (to roughly 110 metres) before use, kept on your device, and expires after 30 minutes. You can always type a city instead.
- Payment information. DayHop Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.
- Usage analytics. We record product events (for example, "plan generated" or "upgrade viewed") to understand what's working. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
- Local storage. Your shortlist, preferred mode, and chosen location are kept in your browser's local storage so the app works without an account.
Services we rely on
To do their part of the job, these providers process some of the data above: Supabase (accounts and data storage), xAI (plan generation), Stripe (billing), Google (sign-in, Maps and Places data), OpenWeather (weather), and activity partners such as Viator, Ticketmaster, and Eventbrite (event and booking data). Venue photos may load from Unsplash. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't show third-party ads or use advertising trackers.
- We don't read your saved plans except as needed to operate the service or as required by law.
Affiliate links
Some booking links (for example, to Viator) are affiliate links — if you book, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which places we recommend.
Your choices
- Use DayHop without an account — planning works anonymously.
- Decline location sharing and type a city instead.
- Cancel a Pro subscription anytime; access continues to the end of the billing period.
- Ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing us.
Data retention & security
Saved plans and account data are kept while your account is active, and deleted on request. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access controls in place.
Children
DayHop helps adults plan family days out; it isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes & contact
We'll update this page if our practices change, and note the new effective date above. Questions or deletion requests: zokaamazon@gmail.com.
